Gutter Rainbows es ese "respirar" del border-line mainstream hip-hop norteamericano. Aunque Talib confiesa que este no es EL ALBUM (Prisoner of Consciousness), debemos decir que es una aceptable precuela y para aquellos fanáticos del Blackstar y Reflection Eternal, este es el disco que han estado esperando: homogeneo, lírico y lleno de colaboraciones de peso.

Así la pista sea de 88-Keys, Ski Beatz o Marco Polo, los versos de Sean Price, Jean Grae o Chace Infinite, Talib Kweli es siempre-consecuente con su nivel y nunca renuncia a una insightful metaphor o un jaw-droppin' verse, así que...
